Broadway,
Tewkesbury Abbey and Gloucester Docks
We
begin our tour by visiting Broadway, here you will have time to browse
the quaint antique and specialist shops before we make our way to Tewkesbury
Abbey.
The
drop off point is next to the Abbey which is over 900 years old and one
of the largest Parish churches in the country. The Abbey contains more
medieval tombs than any other church in Britain with the exception of
Westminster Abbey.
We
now travel to Gloucester Docks where the outstanding Victorian dockside
warehouses are now award winning museums, shops, bars and restaurants.
There is also the National Waterways Museum, Soldiers of Gloucester Museum,
Quay shopping centre and more. The Cathedral is just a few minutes walk
away as are the main town centre shops.
We
make our way back passing through Cheltenham and Winchcombe stopping at
Moreton-in-Marsh for tea if time permits.
