Cotswold Tour (continued)
In
the Cotswold Hills we will visit Stow-on-the-Wold, the highest town in
the Cotswolds at 800 feet above sea level. At the end of Digbeth Street
stands the Royalist Hotel, said to be the oldest Inn in England, dating
back to 947 AD. Just a few miles out of town lies Lower Slaughter, a quaint
village of limestone cottages with a stream running through it.
In
the village of Bourton-on-the-Water you will see old world Cotswold stone
houses, dating back as far as the 17th century. You will also find a model
village crafted out of cotswold stone, Birdland, Cotswold Motoring Museum
and many more attractions. On the main street you will find tea shops
and specialist shops opposite the picturesque River Windrush.
